About the Artist, Patty MacHalec
I am a multimedia artist from the plains of Kansas. I became astonished with the gorgeous natural beauty of Minnesota in my youth, headed north as a young adult, and am now a Wayzata, Minnesota based artist. No two days are ever experienced the same in my life. With my camera, my hiking boots and paintbrushes, I strive to capture moments of beauty and connection.
Everywhere I look I see potential for my art. I may see soft skies, grittiness in the land; always looking for depth of shadow and rays of light. My intentional observations move to aspirations with the goal of capturing the essence of a specific moment. Do I choose thick painterly strokes or fine rendered lines? Bright, warm colors or soft harmonious atmospheres? I just follow my heart!
I received my Bachelors of Fine Art from the University of Kansas and became a corporate Art Director. I have always tried to touch the lives of others through creative, artistic vision and expression. After many years of painting privately, I now feel a calling to share my artwork and I hope you may find joy, peace and inspiration through the moments that have been meaningful in my life.
Outside of my studio, I love spending time with my growing family. I am an avid gardener, cook, active in my faith and I love traveling near and far. Some of my favorite destinations to daydream about new work include the views of Lake Minnetonka, Lake Pepin and Madeline Island Wisconsin, Northern Minnesota, California, Italy, France and of course, Kansas!
“They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty - And I will meditate on your wonderful works.”
